OOTD: Carnaby

So today I got the chance to go to Carnaby Street for a bit of shopping with a friend and release the exam stress by treating ourselves. As it seems like it is almost compulsory to mention the weather in every blog post, I can say that London is finally warming up, and I managed to ditch a jumper and go for a crop top instead. You may be thinking - haven't I seen this outfit before? Well, yes and no. After obsessing over this Shade London skirt on Polyvore, I finally got it for my birthday. Thankfully, it is not too thick, tight and is surprisingly versatile, so I cannot wait to wear it more in the future. Additionally, it had a split in the front, which would be perfect for the upcoming summer months.
Jacket - Vintage (Wrangler)
Skirt - Shade London
Crop Top - Topshop
Boots - Vagabond
Bag - & Other Stories

After endless searching, I also managed to pick up the white Adidas Superstars in a size six - hell yeah - which happen to be super (excuse the pun) comfortable and work really well as casual shoes for many outfits. I think it's safe to say that I am dreading the day they get dirty...
Shoes - Adidas
Notebook - Muji

7 Styles from the Silver Screen...

Have you ever been inspired by a film, with its characters changing the way you dress? From the eighties to the noughties , here we count down our top fashion inspirations from film...
7. Palo Alto
An adaptation of James Franco's book, this film captures the essence of the 21st Century teenager through characters, music, and most importantly, style. Palo Alto is full of laid-back, no-fuss and effortless styles - see Jack Kilmer and his character's floppy hair and relaxed attire for more.
6. Ginger and Rosa
As oppose to your typical in-your-face, candy-coated story about your adolescent in the 1960's, Ginger and Rosa has a more subdued and realistic idea when it comes to portraying teenagers in film. Want to dress like the duo? Think knits, Normcore and no-frills style, and - oh yes - and a good turtleneck.
5. The Craft
Now let's talk about The Craft - a great film with even better style. See the girls transition from more pristine and tidy attire to more gothic garments, all topped off with chokers, minis and leather.
4. The Heathers
What's not to love about a girl and her boyfriend going around killing their obnoxious peers? In The Heathers, we are submurged into the world of big hair and (even bigger) shoulder pads that is the 1980's. However, Winona Ryder and her 'friends' manage to pull off these looks effortlessly with preppy-edginess.
3. Lolita
Surprisingly enough, here we are taking fashion inspiration from a precocious 12-year old, Dolores Haze. Lolita, though with its controversial and slightly disturbing storyline, offers some great outfit choices through its young female protagonist by way of crop tops and sun-dresses, as well as a selection of floral and checked prints and patterns.
2. Wish Upon a Star
This Disney Channel classic is one you may or may not have heard of. I came across this film after going on a Youtube hunt for various 90's teen movies. The outfits in this film definitely have some Spice Girl- esque elements with many appearances of pastel lip colours, mini skirts, and platform Mary Janes.
1. Clueless
Our number one spot could nothave been given to any film but Clueless. The cult classic offers so much sartorially and has greatly influenced how people dress over the past couple of decades. If you have not seen this film (which we consider to be an offence, no, a crime), expect to see perfectly co-ordinated outfits, including plaid two-pieces and a tight mini dress....its an Alaïa by the way.

Grey London

Coat - Topshop
Peg Trousers - Topshop
Jumper - Mango
Shoes - Nike (Air Max Thea)
Bag - Deena and Ozzy (at Urban Outfitters)

A couple of weeks ago we got the chance to go out and about in London. I'll save you the usual tourist and bad weather rant but, despite the fact that this was during a weekday and (from the pictures) it looks sunny, the heart of the city was heaving and it was still extremely cold (although you can't see it, I'm wearing colossal amounts of layers under my jumper). The OOTD photos did come out a bit purple/blue due to the lighting that day, but as you can see, my outfit is mainly based around cool colours- many shades of grey, to be precise (no inappropriate literary puns intended). As this was mainly s walking-based day, I decided to wear my Theas, which are, personally, one of the most comfy and stylish pairs of trainers which my feet have ever had the pleasure of being in.
Enjoy the photos below and we will see you again in a forthcoming post

Spring Feels

Spring Feels

Spring Feels by arianneobi

Today was the day that the sun finally decided to show up after months of wind, cold and rain in London - it was glorious. As the seasons are change, we transition from looking like Eskimos to donning less clothing (and then back to the Eskimos again). As we have mentioned before, here the weather is honestly bipolar, so sometimes it can be important to layer up or stay relatively warm during the spring months.
Here we have paired a flowy jumper with jeans and a casual pair of Adidas 'Superstar' trainers (which, unfortunately, our wardrobes lack), as well as a pastel coloured coat with chunky boots, Mom jeans and a cropped jumper, as an excuse to show off a bit of skin as it gets warmer. We are also currently obsessed with hoop earrings, which big or small, look so good with almost everything and add a bit of an edge.
