DIY : Dotted Eyeliner

Hopefully you're all as excited about the festive season as we are...presents, friends and family, and most importantly, the opportunity to try out a bunch of make-up looks to celebratory parties and events. For those of your who don't want to risk a smoky-eye look turning into a panda impression or adorn your lids with glitter for festivity's sake, this is a quirky and simple way to do eye make-up. If you're ever bored of your typical cat-eye look, this adds a nice touch.
1) Start with winged eyeliner. Some of you may or may not have difficulties doing this, so we highly recommend using a felt-tip liner as oppose to an eye-pencil or gel. To get the perfect draw and line from the edge of your eye up to your brow bone or crease, depending on if you want a more understated or dramatic look. After this, draw a triangle and line your eyes, as seen below.
2) Next, draw a dot with the eyeliner (this is where the felt tip comes in handy). The easiest way to do this is to draw a small circle which lines up with your pupil and build it up.
3) To complete the look, add a swipe of mascara.
Voila!

Festival Makeup

We have not done a tutorial in ages and now seems like the perfect opportunity as we gear up for the summer holidays. As the warmer months approach, with a wave of events and music festivals, we thought it would be good to show you a makeup look which you can try out...enjoy!
1. Using a peachy-brown shade, go over your whole eyelid. Once you have start this, start to build this up on the outer-third and crease of your eye.
2. Next, apply a shimmery/gold shadow over the previous shade and blend. Make sure you especially build this up on the inner corner of your eye to give a brightening effect.
3. After this, apply a streak of shadow to your bottom lashline to add some colour. We used a purple/maroon shade as it especially compliments the gold tones of the eyeshadow.

4. Once you have done this, add a few coats of mascara and a thin stroke of winged eyeliner.
5. After completing the eyes, you can now move onto the face. After applying your regular face makeup (e.g. concealer, foundation etc.), use a bronzer to add a soft glow to your skin, as well as using this or a contour kit to contour your face. We recommend that you focus on your cheekbones to emphasize your bone structure.
6. After this, you can move on to the lips. Here, we used a mid-pink lipliner, but you can change this easily depending on your skin tone.
7. To complete the look, apply some gems on your face. Here, we used small jewels and applied them with eyelash glue. However, try not to go overboard with them otherwise you may end up resembling a human disco ball....
Voila!

Grunge Makeup (inspired by Emma Cervin)

As we had not done a tutorial in a while we thought it would be good to show you guys a makeup look which we were inspired by after watching countless videos on Youtube. We couldn't do something too heavy or vampy (the party season has, unfortunately, come to a close) and there was no point in doing too plain of a look so we came across a tutorial by Emma Cervin entitled 'Herion Chic'. We thought it was really cool, quick and easy and we loved the glamorous grungy-ness of it that we decided to try it ourselves (please excuse the weird orange lighting) :P
1. Apply a soft beige eyeshadow on the whole eyelid. Make sure this blends out to give a less pristine feel.
2. Next, apply a burnt orange/warm brown colour to the eyelid. This time, make sure it only blends out to the crease.
3. Apply a darker brown eyeshadow on the edge of the eyelid and on the crease. Once you have done this, blend it out.
4. Taking a dark brown eyeshadow, apply this to the bottom lash line so it is blended and smudgy- this will give off a grungy effect.
5. To finish off the eyes, apply mascara on your upper and lower lashes- make sure they are as spiky and separated as they can possibly be. After, apply a small amount of eyeliner to the upper lash line and eyelid, creating a thin and tiny flick. You can use black eyeshadow and a small brush to that it is not too graphic or dramatic. You can also fill in your eyebrows just to make them more defined and darker, in order to compliment the rest of the look.
6. Line your lips with a beige/pink/orange toned liner, and fill in with a similar pink colour with a red/brown undertone. You can also use a nude/pink tone for a more natural look
7. To finish off, apply a darker foundation or bronzer on your cheekbones to contour, giving a hollow and defined effect to your face.
