Boots and other bits...

Hellooooo 2017! I think it's safe to say that we're all now so over 2016, or have been for a while now, and looking forward to a new year with slightly less death, war, and outrageous politicians with bight blonde hair and faces like a slapped arse...Anyway, before the end of the year it was, of course, Christmas, and I as lucky enough to get a few bits and bobs from friends and family including some sick boots which I can barely walk in (fashion is pain), big earrings and copious amounts of chocolate (unseen, probably eaten). Here are just a couple of pictures but I hope you all have an amazing new year and look forward to exciting things to come...

OOTD: Galleries and Screenprints

Jacket - Vintage
Top - Original Screen-print
Long Sleeve - GAP
Jeans - Topshop
Boots - Vagabond
Socks - Urban Outfitters
Bag - And Other Stories
Choker - Ebay
***
So here's just a quick post before we get back to 3000 essays and writing a half-decent personal statement for university application...
One day, I (Arianne), went out to a few galleries with a friend. Being a walking about and sketching type of day, I decided stick to the basics and go for jeans, boots and a casual tee. You may be thinking - why the hell are you wearing two shirts and a puffer jackets? Need I explain British weather? Needless to say it was an eventful and enjoyable day, despite the unexpected spouts of rain, blazing sunshine and getting slept on by a stranger on the tube...

OOTD: Minimal

Tunic Dress - Topshop
Jacket - Vintage (Wrangler)
Bag - And Other Stories
Shoes - Dr. Martens
Sunglasses - Jeepers Peepers
 ***
These photos were taken on the  this was on the day of the infamous Tube Strike here in London (aka Doomsday) when one of my friends and I decided to go to the centre of the city (a couple of weeks ago). Luckily I wore this light tunic from Topshop (I lost the grey one, as seen in a recent haul post) which isshort and flowy so managed to avoid baking amongst the crowds of angry Londoners, however, getting around was still a nightmare and you can see that the state of my hair mildly suffered as a result of the chaos - here are some things I learnt...
1. Never leave the house during a tube strike, but if  you must, bring along a good pair of walking shoes, a bottle of water and a good amount of patience and sanity
2. Bus drivers are not as nice as you think
3. See No. 1

Autumn/Winter Wishlist

We'd be completely lying if we said that it hasn't been so long since we last posted something and we've been dedicated bloggers so, we will start off with a huge apology regarding absence...
...Anyway, unfortunately summer is drawing to a close , which, as you can imagine, is causing massive distress to many people around the world. However, while the teenage side of us  wants to bang our heads against a wall and scream into our pillows in regards to the upcoming beginning of term, the fashion side is simply jumping for joy as it means that our Autumn/Winter style will be in full force.
To welcome the extinction of bum-shorts, crop tops and various culturally insensitive makeup/hairstyles, we have put together a bunch of items from stores as a means of inspiration for the coming of the new season...enjoy!
(Clockwise from top-left)
Dress - Sandro - This is such a simple piece, but has a nice fold-over structure and deep colour which would be good for the autumn if the weather is nice but you don't want to wear a short/bright summer dress.
Dress - Motel - The fluffy element on this dress is so unique and makes it a really nice item of clothing for both a formal event and as day-wear.
Jumper - Topshop - One of the more simple pieces, this jumper is really nice and has a subtle raw-edge hem.
Skirt - Sister Jane - Silver on a piece of clothing makes the whole outfit so much more interesting, particularly if you  wear it will duller or monochrome pieces.
Halter Top - Motel - It may be slightly colder but it's no excuse to be afraid to wear something like this halter top, which you could probably get away with when paired with high-waisted jeans and a sheer/mesh top over it.
Jeans - English School London - The pharmaceutical designs on these jeans are so quirky and add character to an outfit, especially when paired with plain items of clothing.
Boots - Vagabond - Yes,  we have an obsession with chunky boots, but these are perfect for the upcoming season and add edge to an outfit.
iPhone Case - Skinnydip London - This brand are known for their cute phone designs, and we really like the cool metallic and 3D elements to this case.
Lipstick (Wicked) - Topshop - A swipe of red lipstick is always a nice way to complete a look and this shade from Topshop is great for an A/W makeup look.
Backpack - Topshop - You cold pair this with virtually anything as it is a big backpack which can carry so much, and it's black sheen also makes it very versatile.

OOTD: Brick Lane

 Outfit:
Puffa Jacket - Schott
Turtleneck - Mango
Skirt - American Apparel (via Depop)
Shoes - Nike Air Max 'Thea'
Socks - Topshop
So today I took a trip to Brick Lane with some friends, for a spot of vintage shopping, good food and a nice time. The weather started off nicely (the reason why I didn't wear tights), then transformed into cold, rain and even a bit of snow, before getting sunny again- typically bipolar British weather. I borrow the jacket off of a friend so that I wasn't head to toe in black. Thankfully, it was super warm and love the pop of red. This look is very sports inspired and, in all honesty, I felt like I was emulating a less-cool Ronan McKenzie. Just to update you, I got a forward helix piercing which. I think, didn't hurt at all and looks pretty good- the only downside of it is probably having to keep it in for 10 weeks! Anyway, enjoy the photos below and you should definitely check out Brick Lane if you haven't already ;)

Christmas Haul

Thankfully, we were able to spend another Christmas together (due to the slightly later occurrence of Russian Christmas, more on that later) and enjoy the day with family and friends. As you can imagine, the day consisted of spending hours sorting out the house and preparing the food, several minutes eating it and feeling like a beached whale afterwards. We were also lucky to get some pretty sick presents, which we hope you will enjoy seeing :P
From the top:
Top - Asos
'It' by Alexa Chung
Layering Necklaces - Urban Outfitters
Beauty Set - Superdry
Air Max 'Thea' - Nike
Lurex Crop Top - Topshop
(Cheeky) Photo Album - Urban Outfitters
'Haute and Naughty' Mascara - MAC
Giftcard - Zara
Nail Polish - Marks and Spencer & Topshop
You probably won't see us until 2015 but a resolution will definitely be to try and blog more instead of procrastinating and being inconsistent. We also now have a Bloglvin account (here) and a Lookbook account (here), so make sure to  check out some of our latest OOTDs.
We hope you had a good Christmas and will see you in the New Year!

Silver shoes and other things...

Loafers and Heels (kindof new but not really) - Out From Under at Urban Outfitters
Bodysuit and Socks - Urban Outfitters
Trousers - Topshop
Jumpers - Mango
'Oh look at the spectrum of colours', said no one, ever, about this post. When getting into the colder months edging towards cooler, darker, more subdued colours seems like the easy way out. In London, winter weather is not film-like with fluffy snow and happy faces, but instead a period filled with rain, sleet hail gloomy skies etc.., so for me, the colour palette normally reflects this time. Obviously dressing in darker or even more neutral colours is not for everyone and if you feel like going out dressed like Barbie then be my guest :)
The jumpers are mainly rather basic essentials for keeping warm during winter, while the other stuff does not really fall into the category of necessity, but general temptation and likability,
