Paris (+ OOTD)

To take some pressure off post-exam and pre-result stress and hysteria, I was able go travelling all around Europe with a bunch of close friends. Whilst train-hopping through central Europe, we encountered castles and monuments, bizarre local cuisines and equal amounts of both casual misogyny and fetishisation (think comments containing the terms 'Beyonce', 'Milk chocolate' and, my personal favourite, 'Nubian queen'. Other than the occurrences mentioned, along with missing trains and going way over budget in certain situations, it was a trip of a lifetime and, in the least Disney Channel way possible, taught me a lot about myself and others. To top the trip off however I went to Paris with one of my best friends, Maria, for a slightly less hectic and more metropolitan end to the trip. We were able to make the most of our trip, seeing almost every sight possible despite making very poor clothing and shoe choices day-in-day out. I only managed to photograph one OOTD on my iPhone so be warned of questionable image quality, but below are also photos of our adventures...

'Saatchi 'Saatchi (OOTD)

Top and Hoodie (worn around the waist) - American Apparel
Jeans and Shoes - Topshop
Jewellery - Asos
A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to visit the Saatchi Gallery, a modern art museum in Chelsea, London. The photos seen above are just a few examples of some of the fantastic pieces which we saw around the gallery, which boasted several rooms and floors of artwork, for example, the 'Oil Room' (last photo, above) where the floor of the room is covered in oil, making a really cool and trippy reflective effect (see Google for more details as this is not the best description).

Jean Paul Gaultier + OOTD

Fashion exhibitions are always the best kind of exhibitions and so we managed to go to the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition in the Barbican Centre. The accessories and embellishments, of course, were all very impressive, while the clothes were brilliant, displayed on somewhat terrifying singing/talking mannequins. We even saw the outfits worn by many of Gaultier's muses, such as Madonna (think cone bras and structured leotards), Naomi Campbell and Erin O'Connor. So enjoy this post and, if you get the opportunity, go to the exhibition to see all of this for yourself.
