Paris (+ OOTD)

To take some pressure off post-exam and pre-result stress and hysteria, I was able go travelling all around Europe with a bunch of close friends. Whilst train-hopping through central Europe, we encountered castles and monuments, bizarre local cuisines and equal amounts of both casual misogyny and fetishisation (think comments containing the terms 'Beyonce', 'Milk chocolate' and, my personal favourite, 'Nubian queen'. Other than the occurrences mentioned, along with missing trains and going way over budget in certain situations, it was a trip of a lifetime and, in the least Disney Channel way possible, taught me a lot about myself and others. To top the trip off however I went to Paris with one of my best friends, Maria, for a slightly less hectic and more metropolitan end to the trip. We were able to make the most of our trip, seeing almost every sight possible despite making very poor clothing and shoe choices day-in-day out. I only managed to photograph one OOTD on my iPhone so be warned of questionable image quality, but below are also photos of our adventures...

Boots and other bits...

Hellooooo 2017! I think it's safe to say that we're all now so over 2016, or have been for a while now, and looking forward to a new year with slightly less death, war, and outrageous politicians with bight blonde hair and faces like a slapped arse...Anyway, before the end of the year it was, of course, Christmas, and I as lucky enough to get a few bits and bobs from friends and family including some sick boots which I can barely walk in (fashion is pain), big earrings and copious amounts of chocolate (unseen, probably eaten). Here are just a couple of pictures but I hope you all have an amazing new year and look forward to exciting things to come...

Amsterdam Weekend 2016 + Mini Haul...

Dress, Top  - Episodes Amsterdam
***
Last weekend, one of us spent time in the city of Amsterdam, for a short art trip. Although the journey was long, 7 hours, two cappuccinos and god-knows-how-many Kinder bars later, we were there.
Unlike at home, the pavements were not embellished with pigeon poo - big red buses were replaced with trams, and of course, bicycles. So. Many. Bikes.
On the first day we went to the Van Gogh Museum, where we saw work from his contemporaries, as well as the artist's most notable pieces.
On day two we were given a lot more freedom to roam the area, and I'm a tad embarrassed to admit we took an Uber to get to a vintage shop only a few minutes away (the things you do for the sake of fashion). The store, appropriately named 'Episodes', is where I managed to bag the stuff above.. I think it's safe to say that you can't turn down a 20 euro dress and 12 euro up-cycled Versace top either...
On the last day, before spending what seemed a lifetime heading back to London, a friend and I roamed the city. Being a Sunday, many smaller shops and galleries were closed, but it was a lot quieter and gave us an opportunity to see the beautiful and tranquil side of Amsterdam, without the obstruction of having to go in a slow group and selfie sticks.

In true Arianne-and-Vera-married-couple-esque tradition, we spent Christmas day together. As always, the day was complete with mince pies and Moët, biscuits and banter. Aside from stuffing our faces with pigs in blanket and chocolates of every variety humanly possible, we got a couple of gifts which we really love and, as showing a pile of gift cards and pound notes isn't exactly the way to go when  sharing what you have got, here are a couple of photos of the things which we really love and you may enjoy.
This will probably also be our last post for 2015 as 2016 is only a couple of days away...oh crap we're getting old. That being said, a new year means new resolutions, and so one of these is getting more in touch with our creative sides.
You can stab us if you don't see any more DIYs and tutorials etc. but, for now, one of us (Arianne) has just started a photography blog which you'll be hearing more about and feel free to check (seriously though guys, each page view is from a different electronic device in my household).
We hope you had a good Christmas and best wishes for 2016 !

A few weeks back I (Arianne) had the chance to go to Italy for a holiday with my family. After spending a weekend or so in Rome, we went to Sorrento, a seaside town on the Amalfi coast. I love city breaks due to the endless options of things to see and do, as well as the general vibe of a busy town. Rome was great as I had never been there before, and fell in love with the architecture, weather and, of course, the food, returning with at least five pounds of extra weight and dissatisfaction with the British cuisine and frozen pizzas.  Everyday it was pretty hot, so I tried to keep as cool as possible by wearing light tops and getting my legs out (whilst unintentionally channelling some sort of  urban-sporty-Wes-Anderson-Lolita hybrid in the process). It was a good holiday, with no shortage of tasty gelato, speedy scooters, ancient art and architecture, inappropriate pasta and American tourists. Whilst it sucks to be back we both cannot wait for what the rest of the summer holds, and here are some photos from the trip...
